St. Paul’s School, Gorakhpur, an SDG-aware school, took its student delegation to Thailand to participate in an international sustainability forum, marking an important milestone in the school’s commitment to immersive learning, global exposure, and youth leadership for sustainable development. The educational trip was organised in partnership with the International School of Sustainability (ISOS), a travelling, experiential school focused on SDG awareness and literacy and real-world learning. ISOS planned its first cohort with students of St. Paul’s; a step towards creating young global citizens for a sustainable tomorrow.

Student delegates from Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 who were part of the school’s Harvard Summer Programme travelled to Bangkok, Thailand, for an educational experience. On 3 August 2026, the students attended the International Forum for Sustainable Futures at the United Nations Conference Centre, where they engaged with global leaders and experts through keynote addresses and panel discussions on sustainability, climate action, biodiversity, youth leadership and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The SDG-aware students actively participated in the proceedings, asking questions and engaging with speakers, gaining first-hand exposure to the global conversations shaping the future of sustainability. The experience offered them an opportunity to move beyond classroom learning and understand how international institutions, policymakers, experts and young people can work together to accelerate sustainable development.

A significant highlight of the visit was the unveiling of the first copy of ‘The Living Campus: Biodiversity, Sustainability, and the St. Paul’s Story’. The book was unveiled by the Founder of the International Forum for Sustainable Futures in the presence of industry leaders, policymakers, NGOs, and international student delegates.

More than a publication, ‘The Living Campus’ represents St. Paul’s School’s effort to encourage students to observe, document and understand the biodiversity and the natural world around them. It seeks to demonstrate that sustainability begins close to home and that every student can become more connected to nature and responsible towards the ecosystems they are part of.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Amreesh Chandra, #SDGManofIndia and Executive Principal, St. Paul’s School, said: “This educational trip opens many opportunities for our students, bringing critical sustainability consciousness and SDG awareness into their learning experiences. At St. Paul’s, our objective is to empower students with not only academic excellence, but also global exposure, leadership opportunities, and to confidently engage in shaping our shared future.”

The international educational trip continued with student delegates visiting the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Asia Regional Office in Bangkok. The students had the opportunity to interact with Mr Dindo Campilan, Asia Regional Director at IUCN, and learn about IUCN’s vision and work in biodiversity conservation, nature, and sustainable development.

The three-day experience reinforced St. Paul’s vision of empowering young people with SDG knowledge, cross-cultural exposure and opportunities to lead. By connecting classroom learning with international institutions and real-world sustainability challenges, the school is nurturing a generation of students who are not only aware of the SDGs but are prepared to become active partners for a more sustainable future.

St. Paul’s School planned the initiative in partnership with ISOS, marking 48 years of quality teaching and learning at its premium institution. The school is not only celebrated for its academic legacy but in recent years also for championing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through focused curriculum integrations, on-campus communications, student and teacher learning programs, SDG campaigns and community outreach.  St. Paul’s  is a true example of embedding sustainability in our lives through knowledge of the SDGs and responsible and conscious choices.
