Some of the shining may have lost, but Modi still shines. There’s hardly any leader on world stage who was successful in keeping inflation in tight control, even after Covid. India could have benefitted more only if he could resist the temptation of becoming ‘ world leader ‘ . While incessantly criticizing Nehru on many issues, Modi tried to be present day Nehru. The other issue is his preference for retired bureaucrats as ministers. May be, he is following the ideas in the book written by his friend for which Mr. Modi had written preface.
There won’t be any repositioning, it will be the same freebies, subsidies, reservations, loan waivers, ‘protecting farmers’, and torturing non farmers.
