In Kashmir’s first election since Article 370 was abrogated, the turnout already surpassed the 13% in 2019 with several hours of voting remaining. This shows Kashmiris want a change from years of governor’s rule. Real democracy is their aim, and this is a first step. Assembly elections must follow soon.
