The Supreme Court’s decision on the burial of Chhattisgarh pastor is pragmatic, sensitive. This, despite the difference of opinion between two judges on questions of law. It rightly prevented the matter going to a third judge and being debated all over again. It also averted potential politicisation over the issue.

For anyone who was still unsure about Trump’s foreign policy, we now have a ready reckoner. 1. Kudos to President Trump for doing what should have been done decades ago. It takes immense courage and genuine patriotism to do the right thing – to take the principled and moral stand.
No doubt, it will earn him a million detractors around the world, people will hurl abuses and expletives at him – yet a true leader has to take it in his stride.
Any illegal immigrant anywhere on earth is unwelcome. It’s a crime to cross borders without prior permission (usually in the form of visa). Entering a nation illegally must result in immediate deportation.
Are we in India ready to indulge the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh? Or the Rohingyas from Myanmar? If we ourselves are not ready to accept illegal immigrants from neighbouring nations, why would we expect the USA to do so? Is this not the textbook definition of “hypocrisy”?
Other western nations like the UK, France and Germany must learn from the USA. These nations, along with the Scandinavian nations, have been overrun by illegal immigrants. One hopes the political leadership of these nations will wake up from their stupor and follow in the footsteps of the USA.

  2. The Print editorial board seems to be heavily dominated by members of the Left-liberal cabal.
Why on earth would Colombia not accept it’s own citizens? The fact that Colombia wishes to disown it’s own people, tells us a lot about the quality of the people being deported.
The USA must have cracked down on illegal immigrants a long time ago.
President Trump must be appreciated for getting rhe job done.
If India wishes to avoid such humiliation, the best course of action would be to come clean and accept our own folks who have migrated illegally to the USA. In fact, we should take the initiative and arrange for airlifting of those Indians identified as illegal immigrants by the US agencies.
A nation not accepting back it’s own citizens who have migrated illegally to other nations is shameful. Not only shameful but sickening too.
