All those who questioned the ‘bulldozer justice’ against Muslims should now also strongly condemn invoking of the draconian NSA and demolition against Pravesh Shukla who urinated on a tribal person in Madhya Pradesh. This amounts to vigilantisation of the state. Existing laws such as SC/ST Act and courts are adequate.
Reopening schools, offices in Manipur is futile, govt must disarm ethnic groups first
Even as the Manipur government has reopened schools and offices in an effort to show normalcy is returning, killings, arson and vandalism are continuing. Instead of focusing on optics, the government needs to secure the return of looted weapons and disarm violent ethnic groups. Cosmetic measures signal haplessness, not resolve.
