Our politicians must learn from the decision of the Travancore Devaswom Board, which did a U-turn and supported the right of women of all ages to enter the Sabarimala temple. Polarising politics over this issue must end now, and the Supreme Court will hopefully do its bit to bring closure.

RBI has set the stage for more rate cuts this year

The RBI’s monetary policy committee cut interest rates by 25 bps, changed the policy stance to neutral and lowered inflationary projections for 2019 to below 4 per cent. With both domestic and global growth expected to be slower, the moves set the stage for easing interest rates further this year.
