Canada’s silence on Pahalgam terror attack is a shame. China, Turkey, and even Taliban condemned it

Canada is the only G7 country yet to comment on the Pahalgam attack. Perhaps it really views itself as the 51st US state and believes Trump has spoken for it. China, Iran, Turkey and Taliban condemned the attack. Hypocrisy aside, even Pakistan called it “despicable”. Canada’s silence is a shame.

Political class must stand united in India’s fight against terror. Gandhi-Shah conversation should be the beginning of much-needed government-Opposition dialogue.

  1. Dismaying. Apart from both being members of the Commonwealth, a long history of cooperation. Once Canada’s general election is over, both countries need to explore the prospects of improving the relationship.
