Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s proposal to regulate AC temperatures is a case of government overreach and Inspector Raj. It sacrifices consumers’ right to choose, and is, at best, tokenism. ‘One nation, one temperature’, especially during heatwaves, isn’t a measure of climate prudence. The government should stop micromanaging its citizens.
