Karnataka’s jobs reservation bill is regressive, discriminatory and unconstitutional. Apart from being anti-business, it violates Article 16(3) of the Constitution. Before pursuing nativist politics, CM Siddaramaiah must remember how sub-nationalist and identity politics backfired in his last term. This also hurts the Congress party. The bill must be withdrawn immediately.
