Hanging of 16 Dec rapists brings closure to many, but doesn’t help lower crimes against women
The hanging of the December 2012 rapists would have brought much-needed closure for many Indians. The case raised public awareness about women’s safety. But it hasn’t lowered sex crimes against women, which is a difficult battle of law enforcement, education and social change. Hanging rapists can’t be a magic bullet.
