Congress’ rout in Haryana civic polls underlines its progressive meltdown in what was its stronghold once. Unending factional feuds, led by self-styled Gandhi family loyalists with no mass base, have eviscerated it. High command must take the blame for promoting them. Prospects of Haryana becoming Gujarat for Congress are real.

States should be striving to reduce poverty, not inflating BPL figures to give subsidies

The increasing trend of states inflating BPL figures to give subsidies to as many as possible shows how broken this system is. 1. Mr Rahul Gandhi should sometimes sit in front of the states map of India and think where the Congress is strong, where it can be revived, where it has been under water for too long to ever get back into the game.

  2. The Print’s editorial board is always hurt and disappointed when the Congress loses elections – even municipal ones.
Goes on to show how loyal and committed they are to the Congress Party. If the Congress were to ever come to power, they will be amply rewarded for sure.
