PM Modi’s vow to severely punish Pahalgam terrorists addresses the larger national purpose. It should calm the rising clamour for retribution. Keyboard warriors should leave it to him, intelligence and military leaders to decide the course, method and timing of action. Ongoing social media warfare trivialises a very serious issue.
India should be fighting outsiders. Reports of Kashmiris being harassed are disturbing
That Kashmir observed its first complete shutdown in 35 years after a terror attack is proof people there stand with the rest of India. This marks a great transformation. That’s why reports of Kashmiris being harassed elsewhere in the country are disturbing. India should be fighting outsiders, not its own.
Stop Attari ceremony forever. It was cringe parade in the name of nationalism
Scaling down of the Attari ceremony shouldn’t just be a temporary response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Hopefully, it’s closed forever and puts an end to the cringe parade masquerading as nationalism. This was no tradition. The over-the-top comedy of choreographed entertainment was an embarrassing insult to India’s uniformed personnel.
Let’s hope ‘The Print’ media takes it’s own advice to keyboard warriors. But then it must be galling to discover that everyone with an Internet connection has a voice, not just privileged media bosses. Welcome to democracy and public opinion.
The map drawn up by the departing British was quite meaningfully changed in 1971. If India so wishes, the map can be changed again.
Of course, that will entail death and destruction at a massive scale. Question is – are we Indians up for it?
My two cents – Let this be the final war. Whatever be the cost, let us finish this once and for all. No more words or threats. We fight till the last man. Whoever wins, reigns supreme over Akhand Bharat.
This is not the era of war. Those words of wisdom should radiate outwards fromSouth Asia, our home in history and geography for thousands of years. Our future and prosperity depend on wise choices being made, for governance and the economy. The map drawn up by the departing British cannot be meaningfully changed. At some stage, all the countries on the subcontinent have to find a better way to live together. Or the world will pass us by.
The parade will not be missed. 2. As far as relations between the two countries are concerned, will hope the door is not slammed shut forever.
