After BJP MLA Akash Vijayavargiya, now Maharashtra Congress legislator Nitesh Rane has delivered mob justice to a government engineer for bad roads — by pouring mud on him. PM Modi was critical of this growing brat culture. It shouldn’t stop at that. Time for political parties to show them the door.

Economic Survey fails to offer big innovative ideas to tackle slowdown, credit crisis

The Economic Survey forecasts 7% GDP growth based on an East Asian model of savings, investment and exports. This is stating the obvious. The Modi government needs to show far more imagination and come up with some big, innovative ideas to tackle the current economic slowdown and credit crisis.

  1. Its nothing new. Since the officials, who are in dirt, do not have courage to retaliate. Very few are dead honest civil servants who do their duty honestly and never compromise, but they are on fingertip. The politicians know to whom theycan hit physically without any oppose. Its shame on most politicians and officials too. But cant do anything as justice delivery system is also lacking.
    God save the country.

  2. It should not matter whether he is our brat or yours. Criminal acts are being performed in broad daylight, recorded on film. In the United States, a jury would convict the offender within a few months.

  3. Difficult to make the case that, almost six years on, we are on top of things in mentoring the economy. Becalmed; now actually losing altitude, like a low earth orbit object slowly falling back to earth. There is no one or nothing to blame, no external black swan events like 2008. India Inc – going through the worst investment slowdown in fifteen years – diffident, subdued, will dutifully hold up placards reading 8 and 9 while discussing the Budget tomorrow on TV programmes. Sudhir Choudhury of Zee has actually created a meme of Goddess Laxmi bestowing her benedictions upon this ancient land.
