To address these nutritional challenges, it is essential for women to prioritize their health and well-being. This includes understanding the importance of nutrition and self-care, which can significantly impact their overall health and development.

In South Asia, the diets of adolescent girls and women often do not meet the nutritional requirements needed for development. Here, gender discrimination continues to severely affect the nutritional outcomes for women. 

South Asia is lagging behind in most of the nutrition parameters. It needs to take urgent action as the nutrition situation is alarming here. South and South Asian countries account for the highest-burden of Anemia globally. Food Fortification will prevent micronutrient deficiencies.
