Manipur is burning since May 3 and central government is not coming down from its position to reconcile.

The Hon’ble Prime Minister has not spoken even a single word till the point of time of writing this piece, it is duty of government to look after people to hear them and to give them the solution.

Shri Amit Shah went there but he was not able to provide solution to the issue and the package of Rs.100 crore has nothing to do with peace.

Manipur needs human peace package that is of human consideration, touch, and not budgetary package.

Why not Prime Minister visiting Manipur and speaks about it, the centre must intervene.

BJP state minister at the centre from Manipur said that it is a complete law and order failure and state government led by chief and home minister Mr. N Biren Singh has failed miserably in handling the situation.

It is a clear picture of anguish, displacement of people and violence. The state has skirmishes in the past but this time it is unprecedented.

There are two main reasons for such a mayhem because of which there is an atmosphere of fear and state of distress.

Mr. N Biren Singh has unilaterally withdrew the tripartite peace agreement between Kukis, the tribe of hilly region, state and central government without taking other two parties into consideration.

The state government has gone for evacuation of Kuki militant and of those who are living in hilly region along with the illegal churches constructed by them without having some alternative arrangement of rehabilitation.

Till now only Kukis are getting benefited from ST reservation but the high court gave the judgement that majority community Meiteis will also get the advantage of the same reservation and this decision also added fuel to the fire in addition to the withdrawal of tripartite agreement and eviction drive.

Three delegations from Manipur are waiting to meet Narendra Modi-two from the ruling BJP and one from the opposition Legislators from 15th and 10th June respectively but have failed to have an audience with Prime Minister despite having camped at the National Capital for some days now.

The house of minister of state of BJP ruled central government who is from Manipur has been attacked, nobody is safe neither officer, ministers and not even army personals.

Many innocent lives are losing along with many properties and the people are living in fear and in a state of distress.

The constitutional rights like forest right, land laws and other tribe demands are not given heed by state government in fact the attitude seems to be anti-tribal and anti Kukis.

The hilly region needs separate administration either in the form of Union Territory with legislators or Autonomous Territorial Council or let us say a separate state although the area occupied by Meiteis is only 10% of the total geographical area of Manipur as right now it is a case of total mistrust and the gulf that cannot be bridged.

It is better that they should live as a neighbour.

The immediate solution is to impose president’s rule and then solution can be worked out after some time.

For this to happen the centre should open the ear and eye keeping aside their political inclinations and stop giving step children treatment to Kukis and Nagas of hilly region.

Already geographical demographic divide happened between Meiteis and Kukis of valley and hilly region respectively and every human being deserves the basic amenities like water, electricity, gas, vegetables, grains, pulses et.al. to live with threshold dignity.

The given situation is akin to civil war and will become that eventually if truth and reconciliation will not happen.

Where the Kukis will go as they are the citizens of this sovereign country called India.
