Jan 7 (Reuters) – The leader of Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council (STC) Aidarous al-Zubaidi has fled to an unknown destination and did not board a plane scheduled to take him to Riyadh, the Saudi-backed coalition in the country said on Wednesday.
Zubaidi was set to travel to Saudi Arabia, days after Yemen’s internationally recognised government said it had asked Riyadh to host a forum to address the southern issue, a move seen as a possible step towards easing the fighting.
