LONDON (Reuters) – Ukrainian-Russian businessman German Khan’s wife on Friday lost her appeal to overturn British sanctions imposed on her following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Anzhelika Khan was made subject to British sanctions in April 2022, a month after her husband, German, who co-founded investment group LetterOne and whose net worth is estimated at $8.8 billion by Forbes.

She argued that she had no involvement in Russian politics and held no influence over the Russian government, meaning it was unlawful to subject her to sanctions.

Her case was dismissed in February 2024 and Khan’s appeal against that ruling was rejected by the Court of Appeal in London on Friday.
