Feb 19 (Reuters) – The United States imposed sanctions on three commanders of the Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces paramilitary group over their role in the 18-month siege and capture of the city of al‑Fashir, the U.S. Treasury Department said on Thursday.

Mass killings of non‑Arab communities during the capture bear hallmarks that point to genocide, an independent UN probe said in a new report on Thursday.
