LONDON, Jan 20 (Reuters) – British prosecutors said on Tuesday that no additional criminal charges would be filed against nurse Lucy Letby, already convicted of murdering seven babies, concerning further allegations of infant deaths and non-fatal collapses.
Letby, 36, is serving a whole life sentence after being convicted of killing the newborns and attempting to murder seven more between June 2015 and June 2016 while working in the neonatal unit at a hospital in northern England, making her Britain’s worst serial child killer of modern times.
Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service said it had considered further allegations of murder and attempted murder relating to two infants who died and the attempted murder of seven others but had concluded the evidential test was not met.
