The UK government has announced a significant investment of £16 million in 13 green energy innovation projects in Ukraine, said a UK government press statement.

The new initiative, InnovateUkraine, aims to support the country’s recovery from the recent war and build a more sustainable future for the energy sector. The project will be delivered by a UK-based innovation agency.

The collaboration will help Ukraine to diversify its energy resources, reduce its reliance on imported gas, and meet its climate targets, the press statement said. It is also expected to create jobs and contribute to the growth of the green economy in Ukraine.
The funds will be used to support 13 projects, including the development of a new space heating technology for heat pumps, an innovative battery storage solution for renewables, and a more targeted approach to harnessing geothermal energy in Ukraine.InnovateUkraine is a collaboration between the governments of the UK and Ukraine, with support from the private sector. The UK government is committed to providing Ukraine with the necessary support and resources to help the country achieve its energy goals, added the press statement.
