ATHENS (Reuters) – The Greek public broadcaster said on Monday that three migrants were dead and five were rescued off the island of Samos in Greece.

More were believed to be missing, the public broadcaster added.

A search and rescue operation by four coastguard vessels and a helicopter was ongoing off the rocky shores of Agios Isidoros, in the northwestern part of the island, the coastguard said.

(This story has been corrected to say Greek public broadcaster, not Greek state television, in the headline and paragraph 1)
