Nasdaq is an American stock exchange based out of Manhattan. It is the world’s second largest stock exchange after the New York Stock Exchange and is the most active stock trading venue by volume in the US.
As of January 2026, Nasdaq has 4,025 listings.
The exchange platform itself is owned by Nasdaq Inc., which also owns the Nasdaq Nordic stock market network and three stock exchanges in the US.
