New Delhi: Approximately 30 million Americans will have their student debt cancelled under the Biden administration’s next steps on student debt cancellation, a White House Press release stated.

As stated in a release from the president’s office on Wednesday, the next steps will provide more information to borrowers on how they can access the upcoming debt relief programs.

Despite attempts led by Republican elected officials to block our efforts, President Biden vowed to continue fighting to provide relief to student loan borrowers, fix the broken student loan system, and help borrowers get out from under the burden of student debt. This announcement is in addition to the 5 million student loans that have already been cancelled for nearly half of all student loan borrowers.

The Biden administration has made changes to student loans, including increasing the maximum Pell Grant for students and holding colleges accountable for misrepresenting student loans to students and families.
