BERLIN, March 18 (Reuters) – A rescue operation is underway in a Swiss ski resort after media reported that a cable car cabin crashed down a snowy mountainside during strong winds, although it is unclear whether people were inside.

A spokesperson for air-rescue service Rega said one helicopter was involved in the operation but gave no further details. Swiss newspaper 20 Minuten said at least one person had been injured.

The incident took place in the ski resort of Engelberg in central Switzerland. The local lift company BET was not immediately available for comment.
