MEXICO CITY, March 27 (Reuters) – Mexico’s defense ministry said on Friday it had deployed specialists to join the search for four miners missing after a collapse in the northwestern state of Sinaloa.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at the Minerales de Sinaloa mine in the El Rosario municipality, the ministry said in a statement.

A military aircraft transported 38 search and rescue specialists to the site to join 60 personnel already providing security, the statement added. Local authorities and rescue teams are also involved in the operation.
