March 21 (Reuters) – Cuba’s national electric grid collapsed on Saturday, the country’s grid operator said, leaving around 10 million people without power amid a U.S.-imposed oil blockade ‌that has crippled the island’s already obsolete generation system.

The power failure was the second nationwide since the beginning of the blockade, with the previous one occurring last Monday. Grid operator UNE announced the outage on social media and said it would continue giving updates.
