He aspires to cooperate with other Government officials and the people of Sikkim.

Recently, he has been proactively consistent in fulfilling the long-awaited demands of the people of Namcheybong Sikkim, claimed one of the members of the local Panchayat in Namcheybong, Kishore. According to Kishore, during the tenure of the previous Government of Sikkim, an arterial bridge that will connect Pakyong district Gangtok, did not take off due to a lack of political support.

For the people of Basilakha, Pricklakha, Supthang, and 32 number, it has been a long wait to get an arterial bridge that will connect Pakyong district with Gangtok. The 30m span steel bridge has been under construction for the past year. Under Shri Em Prasad Sharma’s leadership, the locals have reported that the bridge will be complete by the upcoming year to bring respite to locals.

Since Mr. Em Prasad Sharma has taken over as MLA of Namcheybong constituency the project has been fast-tracked with Rural Management and Development department, Land Revenue, and Panchayats surveying the entire area. More than 6000 plus people will benefit after the opening of this bridge.

The local populace of the area is mostly into agriculture as their profession in Namcheybong, Sikkim. In absence of this bridge, the villagers had a tough time seeking their produce in the markets of Sikkim as it entailed inflated transportation prices which resulted in soaring prices.

The bridge will help students who now have to walk through difficult terrain to reach their classes. The bridge will ease travel between the two districts saving not just time but also rejuvenating the local economy connecting them directly to the capital region. Senior citizens of the area who are ailing and have to go for regular checkups are a section who are also eagerly awaiting the opening up of the bridge.
