Volodymyr Zelensky made a surprise visit to Saudi Arabia on Thursday, 26th March, where the two leaders discussed both regional escalation and the war in Ukraine. Kyiv and Riyadh signed a security cooperation agreement, particularly focused on “protection of the skies”, a reference to Ukraine’s expertise in countering drone attacks. Samah Qundeel explains.
