Over the years, Sushma Swaraj had visited the UN on multiple occasions, addressing world leaders in Hindi at the annual high-level General Assembly sessions.
In his first speech to the UN 70 years ago, Jawaharlal Nehru had stressed on the need for peace, saying hatred & violence wouldn’t solve the world’s problems.
I wonder how the current government thinks it can talk about building ‘Future City’ in Hyderabad when even the present city itself is barely functioning.
Mini deal will likely see no cut in 10% baseline tariff on Indian exports announced by Trump on 2 April, it is learnt, but additional 26% tariffs are set to be reduced.
PTC Industries is investing Rs 1,000 cr in 4 manufacturing plants in UP, has already started supplying titanium parts to BAE Systems for its M-777 howitzers that India also uses.
Public, loud, upfront, filled with impropriety and high praise sometimes laced with insults. This is what we call Trumplomacy. But the larger objective is the same: American supremacy.
The media should understand the language of PM Modi,USA President, German Chancellor, etc, They decide on issues without any normal way of discussions in any political manners, some preveledged few takes decision, then they call the PRESS meeting, decide it then & there.(this is called as new pro democrazy and a mass mind control.)
Yes, India should avoid mentioning Kashmir in UN GA speech by the PM. As Kashmir is our internal matter, we should avoid referring K word there. Let Pakistan bring Kashmir issue there and then refute Imran’s speech point by point.
The UNGA address is likely to be an important one considering that earlier speeches were addressed by Sushma Swaraj as EAM. Modi is likely to touch upon various contemporary topics and India’s contribution thereof. One expects the Kashmir issue to be well managed from now till then and avoid any embarrassment at UNGA. Pakistan is unlikely to relent on the Kashmir issue, come what may. India has,so far, preferred a low key response, and rightly so.
A lot of useful diplomacy can be compressed into five days in New York. Trans oceanic travel takes up a lot of time. Instead, summits can be scheduled with a number of world leaders. Consider the practice of an annual India – Russia summit. Superfluous, since the two leaders meet in both BRICS and SCO, apart from G 20. In terms of value for money, nothing beats a long telephone talk. From what little one has read of the G 7 summit, the only thing it seemed to set on fire was the Amazon rain forest.
