In India we cannot say that the press does not have freedom. The freedom of the press is not restricted through any govt orders. But all our print and electronic media is owned by business barons or political party bosses. Hence they are serving interest of their masters. The editors and anchors are paid servants. If they exceed the briefs of their masters they will lose the job. Hence “freedom of press” and unbiased T.V.channels is big myth. This inability of the print and electronic media is best expressed in today’s situation. The entire media is pro-government or pro-establishment. The press in India is therefore a misnomer to the journalistic ethic.
