CBI sources have now confirmed the Kolkata Police’s view that there is no evidence of any other attacker other than the one accused who has already been arrested.
TMC's Kunal Ghosh says those 'mixing RG Kar issue with pujas should return earlier grants too'. BJP's Sajal Ghosh urges more to join boycott. Mamata govt bumped up grant to Rs 85k this yr.
Allegations of financial impropriety surfaced in wake of gruesome rape and murder of doctor in the hospital premises three weeks ago. Ghosh questioned for 10th consecutive day Monday.
Main accused in Kolkata rape-murder is a civic volunteer. Ex-cops argue ambiguity in scheme's guidelines leads to misuse. Volunteers say 'unfair' that they're all getting a bad name.
The central probe agency is also searching 14 other locations in Kolkata, including that of the accused and their associates in RG Kar Medical College doctor rape-murder case.
Many TMC leaders say Mamata hardly ever consults them & they are clueless about how to deal with outrage over RG Kar case. CM changed tack after realising issue would snowball, they add.
Accused of trying to cover up brutal rape-murder of a doctor, Ghosh is being investigated by CBI, which is also set to take over probe into alleged financial bungling under his watch.
Kolkata residents take to the streets to express their anger at the brutality of the incident, 'reclaim the nights', demand justice for the victim, and share their anguish.
A small group of young women was behind the ‘Reclaim the night’ march on 14 August. But, the ‘apolitical’ movement in the absence of a leader or decisive agenda is losing steam.
Fauja Singh, 114, died after being hit by a speeding car. His death renews questions about India’s deadly roads, rising accidents, and poor traffic discipline.
Mini deal will likely see no cut in 10% baseline tariff on Indian exports announced by Trump on 2 April, it is learnt, but additional 26% tariffs are set to be reduced.
India-Russia JV is also racing to deliver 7,000 more AK-203 assault rifles by 15 Aug. These are currently being made with 50% indigenisation and this will surge to 100% by 31 December.
Public, loud, upfront, filled with impropriety and high praise sometimes laced with insults. This is what we call Trumplomacy. But the larger objective is the same: American supremacy.
How shameful, Sagarika Ghose!!… is she related with Sandeep Ghosh… There is something called as you sow so shall you reap, and this is also true in physics.
Before selling off your spine while spewing such non-sense just spare a thought about the mother of this child ,same can happen to Ishan and Tarini…..Shame!!!
Print should be named misprint .
Sagarika may be a supporter of the rapists and corrupt TMC leaders but Print?
Good that it has been printed by Print so that people will know the true colour and intentions of this website.
Please don’t malign the victim’s parents by dismissing the whole thing as political rumour. Her parents, friends and aunt have ginven statements that this cannot be work of one individual and police or hospital authorities have tried to dismiss the case as suicide. It seems you have written the article with your own agenda to protect Didi.
What a farcical write up !! The girl’s corpse was cremated by partymen without the parents being allowed to decide. The malicious principal was given a prize posting immediately after the incident. The post mortem was conducted in haste. Honourable Supreme Court Judge commented during the hearing that he has not come across such a case in hsi 30 years’ career. Please do not cover up the heinous incident by using your writing skills
Really? It is your report which is full of misinformation. There are other Print media which are carrying accurate information about this case – will read those, thank you. For your information, CBI has not confirmed any such thing. Choti chata bondho korun.
It’s shameful that The Print allows dubious journalists like Ms. Sagarika Ghose to spew lies on it’s platform. By doing so, it becomes complicit in the misinformation campaign orchestrated by the TMC.
Journalists like Ms. Sagarika Ghose are the reason why journalism has lost it’s prestige as a profession.
Please. Your party goons have ensured that the evidence stays corrupted because they destroyed the crime scene. I hope you sleep well, ma’am. After all, you are doing extremely good work by shielding a party that routinely uses rape as a political party. The fact that you or your pathetic political colleagues cant look beyond the bjp and feel bad for the poor girl and her family shows having women in politics adds nothing if they are just as patriarchal.
I for one am glad to read this side of the story. Thanks for shedding some light on it.
