The Australian govt hopes to create 10,000 recycling-related jobs in a “once in a generation” opportunity to remodel the way the country deals with its waste.
Recycled goods are irreplaceable parts of the supply chain for many industries and the Covid lockdown is having both an economic and ecological impact on them.
On 19 June 2004, G Parthasarathy, India's former Ambassador to several countries, spoke at the Nani Palkhivala Memorial Lecture, examining India’s foreign policy challenges in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

Education, reservations, govt jobs are meant to bring equality and dignity. That we are a long way from that is evident in the shoe thrown at the CJI and the suicide of Haryana IPS officer. The film Homebound has a lesson too.
For a majority of plastics especially single-use ones, recycling doesn’t work and will never work..and this poses a big environmental problem which must be addressed. Either the industry designs better products with lower environmental impact or governments begin phasing out such unsustainable products.
What a load of BS. The car example does not apply at all to plastic. Metals are (and always have been) infinitely recyclable. You can melt steel or aluminum down as many times as you want and it is still steel or aluminum.
Plastic, however changes chemically with each melting cycle and will usually be full of contaminants. The only economical use for plastic waste is incineration for energy production.
A great point made on a video I watched recently was that to support recycling, a much stronger vote of support than trying to recycle more, is to choose to buy products that USE recycled materials
A very encouraging n positive survey of advocating recycling of plastic waste.Such practices are common for other wastes like that of glass, metals, paper n cardboard.
I agree with the author that it is the only technological option to treat n recover back material from plastic waste. Waste is a business n a resource ,n.plastic waste is a lucrative business for the informal sector like waste pickers/collectors n recyclers globally. The recycled post consumer plastics waste (recyclate) has applications, alone or in part combination with virgin plastics to demonstrate the concept of circular economy. There are other options also like incineration to recover energy,as fuel ,alternative to coke, for cement kilns n in the manufacture of composite materials. There are Indian as well as ISO standards for recycling of plastic waste.Recycling of plastic waste has been an estblished industry in India for the past more than forty years providing livelihood to 2 millions in the informal.sector.I have produced a video film ” A success story of plastic waste in India (1995)…..O P Ratra, India, 20 Sept. 2020
A very encouraging n positive survey of the need for only technological option of adopting recycling of plastic waste. The recycled plastic(recyclate) has several applications alone or in part combination with virgin plastics, thus becoming part of of circular economy. This practice is common in India.I compliment the author of this survey n support the action s….O P Ratra,India, 20 Sept.2020

Nice shill for the plastics industry?

This sounds like more plastics/oil industry puffery.
