If the Chinese or the Nepalese extend the railway line from China into Nepal upto India’s border, it does not merely facilitate economics. It can be both strategic and tactical threat to India. China can also bully Nepal to allow movement of armament on the railway line, if need be. Railway is doubtless a strategic asset. The writer seems to have missed this point. I hope that our strategic thinkers in the government of India won’t miss this point.

Chinese are vermins.Once allowed foothold, they will chew and destroy everything in their path and move on to the next target.Nepal better be aware.
