On 22 April, 2025, terrorists killed 25 Indians—24 tourists and a Kashmiri local—and 1 Nepalese tourist at Baisaran meadows in Pahalgam before fleeing the tourist spot. Eyewitness accounts indicate victims were singled out on the basis of religion, shot at close range in front of their families.
At the time of the attack, PM Modi was in Saudi Arabia on an official visit and US Vice President JD Vance was visiting India. Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) offshoot The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Cabinet Committee of Security (CCS) chaired by PM Modi met the day after the attack and in a statement highlighted a potential link to Pakistan, saying “cross-border linkages of the terrorist attack were brought out”.
There was magnificence, majesty in the manner Prime Minister India Gandhi strode into the Nixon – Kissinger White House. That was, however, a different situation altogether. A nation waiting to be born, ten million refugees straining India’s resources. A short, swift military victory. An adversary sliced in half. 2. One act of terrorism, however cowardly, should not lead to a subcontinental war between now nuclear armed adversaries. The war hysteria drummed up by the channels does not serve India’s interests in any manner. 3. It is fantastic that the Trump administration, initially a little aloof, immersed itself fully in peacemaking efforts and delivered a ceasefire in 48 hours. Much needed.
These people are the ones to talk! Shameless creatures!
What did they do when 26/11 attacks took place? Not a single bullet was fired even at the LoC. The armed forces wanted to take action and senior military leaders repeatedly asserted that they were prepared. But the Congress-Left political eco-system simply buckled under US pressure.
Yes. The party that under US pressure declined to take any action following the heinous atrocities 26/11 is now playing the war bugle! There should be a law mandating that the children of all MPs would have to serve 2 years compulsory military service after reaching 18 years. Let them put their wards where their words are. Then we will see how many war mongers are actually present. Its easy to make fiery speeches that places others’ children in the line of fire while their own enjoy foreign education at tax payers money or ill-earned bribes!
