Scheduled to begin on 13 May, several parents & students enrolled for the entrance exam in border states & UTs are now requesting NTA to consider postponing it citing safety concerns.
Despite reducing the number of questions from 90 to 75, the error rate in the engineering entrance exam increased to 1.6 percent from the 0.6 percent limit.
From 2025, NTA will not conduct recruitment exams, says Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The panel was formed following allegations of irregularities in the NEET-UG exam.
The steps are being taken following recommendations by a govt panel, set up to suggest reforms in entrance exams conducted by NTA after allegations of irregularities in the 2024 NEET-UG.
Panel suggests multi-level NEET-UG along lines of JEE (Advanced). It also recommends 'hybrid mode' in areas where conduct of computer-based entrance exams is not possible.

Very true….kanakapriya has got a good score, the Indian exam system has failed lakhs of families. We have been cheated. The NTA has made crores of money via exam fee why is it hesitating to conduct a re-exam? If they had agreed to do it immediately after the paper leak at least they could have some respect. Now, the system has lost its face. Like Kanakapriya’s family there are many who would like to go to other countries to study medicine and not return to India after that. If this is the case, who is the loser? It is the Indian system. They are digging their own grave!
