Forget comparing it with classics like Hrithik’s Ek Pal Ka Jeena or the slick title track of Dhoom 2, Janaab-e-Aali does not even come close to Ghungroo.
India’s industrial output growth saw a 10-month low in June, with Index of Industrial Production (IIP) growing by mere 1.5% as against 1.9% in May 2025.
Standing up to America is usually not a personal risk for a leader in India. Any suggestions of foreign pressure unites India behind who they see as leading them in that fight.
So typical of Ms. Banerjie’s journalism. Truly reflects the reportage of the NDTV school of journalism.
Take a random and very minor (even pointless) issue, blow it up using fancy terms like “freedom of expression”, and then drag in the right-of-centre political parties (usually BJP but can be other political parties too) and pin the blame on them.
The “incident” happened in Kolkata, a city administered by “secular” political parties right since independence in 1947 and it was widely reported on by the Bengali media (God only knows why?).
But Ms. Banerjie decided to drag the UP government and Yogi administration into this. Out of nowhere the anti-Romeo squads of UP became the villain.
Such yellow journalism has all along been the hallmark of NDTV school of journalists.
Just to clarify matters, I am a resident of Noida. The anti-Romeo squads have NOT targeted couples or expression of love in parks and other public places. They have targeted the “Romeos” – usually groups of young men who pass lewd comments or gestures and engage in other offensive acts targeting women (at times even physically harrassing the woman). The result has been really good. As far as women are concerned, the law and order situation across cities in UP has improved a lot. Though much more needs to be done in this regard. However, I feel much more safe in public places nowadays compared to the pre-Yogi days. All thanks to the anti-Romeo squads. Hope the action against such roadside “Romeos” continues unabated.
