I am personally witnessing this slow rot in Tamilnadu. Wages are so high that middle class and small businesses cannot afford workers. There is rampant alcoholism, lounging in front of TV, mindless adulation of movie stars. Atleast there were migrant workers from UP, Jharkhand, Bihar, etc. But now they are also coming less and less. Population growth has stalled. At the moment everything is hunky dory. But in a decade Tamil Nadu will be a stagnant state if these trends persist.
They will import all these freebies from China. No local job creation.
