The government had restricted the manufacturing of Oxytocin, a life-saving drug for new mothers, to just one organisation, a move IMA says will create a shortage.

With 20.2 percent of its total loans in default by the end of last year, Bangladesh had the weakest banking system in Asia. Despite reforms, it will take time to recover.
This world is being restructured and redrawn by one man, and what’s his power? It’s not his formidable military. It’s trade. With China, it turned on him.
I am a physician. Yes, silver ions are toxic to bacteria when in direct contact but I do not understand how silver ions dispersed in a immiscible medium such as paint can kill bacteria
Bacteria are killed by UV & IR light which are used for sterilising medications which are sensitive to heat like vaccines and injectable antibiotics & dressings. The Crompton business head says the light does not emit either of them. So, I wonder about 2 things then – what exactly is killing the bacteria and how does the particular bulb specifically avoid generating UV & IR light because I use LED bulbs and they do become hot from IR radiation
Finally, IMA does not have any research facilities anywhere in the country. I think the media should investigate this claim. Nor does the IMA have members who are reputed clinical scientific researchers. Most of its members are practising clinicians and many of its office bearers pocket the money from these endorsements even though it is against the law.
The IMA, similar to corporate hospital, abuse a loophole in the MCI ethical regulations. The MCI ethical regulations specifically state that it is illegal to endorse any commercial product including medicines and doctors can lose their licenses. Also, doctors cannot do marketing. But, the MCI has authority only over individual doctors. It does not have any authority over corporate hospitals who employ the doctors or organisations with doctors as its members
Hence, corporate hospitals & IMA misuse this loopholes and destroy the reputation of the doctors in the process. Thus, doctors get blamed for commercialisation and invite the wrath of the public.
