No surprises by the way there because the media for its TRP and other selfish reasons will never like to bring facts in public domain because then the readers will be able to make their judgement and subject will be closed for them. Media are rather interested in keeping the ‘pot’ boiling so as viewers will keep on glued to the TV sets for months and months !
There is a saying in Punjab that ‘dar shai da nahin, pai da hai’ (fear is not of the rabbit who passed through the crop of the farmer, but of it becoming thoroughfare – other animals like elephants will follow the rabbit soon and destroy the crop). The press conference by the four judges and now Congress have set an extremely dangerous precedent. Even if the four men with integrity had their honest opinions about CJI, they should have held it for few more months for the sake of the Judicial institution and let the CJI retire. CJI is not like US CJ who remains on the position life long.
