I have no faith in politicians ,be it of this or that party.Higher education has to be our focus , so that we keep pace with the world around us.It is a welcome step and India can take lead in several areas of higher education. We have the talent . However ,it can bloom only if all of us, the 1350 million get an opportunity to be educated. That is woefully missing.Look at the villages; look at the selection of teachers, their teaching abilities.their focus on the job ? Look at the Government and Municipal schools . All is missing ;either because we as a Nation are not focused on education or it is poor planning and total lack in execution. Corruption in education should be equated to murder, nothing less.Pay the teachers well. Honour them in society. In I I T Powai, the most qualified professor;the most experienced and almost most respected was teaching the undergraduate classes. We have the Kailash Satyarthis , not one but many .They may not be as tall as he is (and God Bless Him For showing the way) ,but look for them and we will find many of them to meet our requirements.Shun politics and corruption here.PLEASE.
