In recent years, the state has experienced political instability, most notably after the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections where both regional parties split into twos.

Why are grown men of Indian politics – whether Kejriwal or Modi or Rahul Gandhi so short of originality that they keep harking back to 17th century kings who wore jewellery and married half a dozen women and always bore sons who they didn’t get along with eventually, and who frittered away everything because they were administratively so weak. Shiv Sena, BJP, Congress, NCP have all raided Shivaji s reputation before these AAP late latifs, and none have the charm or brains of Shivaji. Think of something original, no. There are Bhakti saints in Maharashtra, there were social reformers, there were scholarly women, there were even evil, manipulative women like Anandibai (since you are looking for politics), there were brilliant writers like Pu La Deshpande, there were proper chief ministers with org capabilities like YB Chavan, there are sportsppl like Kashaba, Sachin or Zaheer Khan. There’s Baba Amte. Why do you have to appropriate Shivaji all over again? Are politicians in Delhi all so daft and unimaginative? Stop this fancy dress. You are not even good at it.
Maharashtra is not hospitable terrain for AAP, not even a single city like Bombay.
