San Antonio (USA), Apr 3 (PTI) India-born Canadian golfer Sudarshan Yellamaraju opened with a roller-coaster three-under 69 to be tied-31st at Valero Texas Open here.

The leader at the end of the first day was Mark Hubbard.

Hubbard carded seven-under 65 after starting his round on the front-nine.

He dropped his only bogey on the fourth hole before striking eight birdies in the round to close the day at seven-under par.

Yellamaraju started his round with three straight birdies on the 10th, 11th and 12th before dropping shots on the 15th and 18th. He picked another birdie on the 17th hole.

On the front nine, the 24-year-old started with two birdies before dropping shots on the fifth and seventh and closing the round with a birdie on the ninth.

Five players shared the second spot with a score of six-under. The players in this group are Tony Finau, Davis Thompson, Andrew Putnam, Robert MacIntyre and Steven Fisk.
