New Delhi: With the country’s hockey season on the rise, the Second Khelo India Sub Junior Women’s Hockey League is all set to get underway in Lucknow from March 28 to April 6 at the Padma Shri Mohammad Shahid Synthetic Hockey Stadium.
It is a high-octane competition with nine teams divided into two pools.
In the first pool, the SAI Shakti Team, Odisha Naval Hockey High-Performance Centre, Khelo India State Excellency Centre, Bilaspur, SAI BAL team, Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy, Jai Bharat Hockey Academy, and Raja Karan Hockey Academy will face off.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semi-finals, which are scheduled for April 5.
The teams at the third and fourth ends in their respective pools will play in the 5th and 8th classification matches to determine their final positions in the tournament.
In the second pool, the teams that lost their semi-finals will play in the third and fourth place play-off to establish their final positions in the tournament. The winners of the all-important finals scheduled for April 6 will proceed to the next step of the competition.
Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey stated, “This is yet another step in Hockey India’s commitment towards growing the game at grassroots levels.
