IPL, 2022: MS Dhoni hands over captaincy of Chennai Super Kings to Ravindra Jadeja

Jadeja has been with the team since 2012 and will be the third player to lead CSK.

New Delhi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni has handed over captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings to team mate Ravindra Jadeja, the franchise said in a statement Thursday.

The opening match will be played between CSK and Kolkata Knight Riders.

CSK has won the IPL trophy four times under Dhoni. He was retained by the team for 2022, along with Jadeja, Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

The full CSK squad is: M.S. Dhoni, Moeen Ali, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu, Dwayne Bravo, Robin Uthappa, Deepak Chahar, K.M. Asif, Tushar Deshpande, Shivam Dube, Maheesh Theekshana, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Simarjeet Singh, Devon Conway, Dwaine Pretorius, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Subhranshu Senapati, Mukesh Choudhary, Prashant Solanki, C. Hari Nishaanth, N. Jagadeesan, Chris Jordan, K. Bhagath Varma.

The 2022 iteration of the Indian Premier League will start 26 March.
