Shamoly Khera’s latest work, Letters to Daughters of Tomorrow, delves into the stereotypes and societal expectations that women have faced and internalised for generations. In this thought-provoking book, Khera refers to today’s women as the “transition generation,” hopeful that they will forge a path for future progress. Khera argues that the current generation of women has the opportunity to break free from entrenched stereotypes and redefine success on their terms.

The book addresses critical questions about leadership, emotional intelligence, and societal readiness for women’s full potential. Khera explores various themes, including the debate on whether women need to adopt traditionally masculine traits to be taken seriously in leadership roles. Through a mix of anecdotes, research, and insightful commentary, Khera offers a lending hand to women striving to overcome the daily obstacles imposed by outdated conditioning.

The book will be released on 11 September through SoftCover, an online platform by ThePrint dedicated to launching non-fiction works.

With a distinguished career as a TV presenter, media producer, and executive coach, and having spoken at TEDx events four times, Shamoly Khera was recognised among the Times Most Influential Personalities in 2021. Her previous book, Bedazzle, earned her the Emerging Author of the Year award. Currently serving as the Joint Managing Director at One Take Media, Khera began her career as a doctor with a deep interest in Performance Psychology.

Actor and Humanitarian Sonu Sood praised the book, saying, “‘Women have played a strong role in my life, and Letters to Daughters of Tomorrow is a great reminder of how women can make a place for themselves in this competitive world and achieve everything they have ever wished for. This book will inspire every woman who picks it up.”

Columnist Suhel Seth commended the book for its balanced perspective. Terming it to be without “gender judgment”, he wrote, “Shamoly Khera in her book Letters to Daughters of Tomorrow has weaved an insightful tapestry of the role and criticality of women in society in general and India in particular. She casts no gender judgment but seeks equanimity and empathy through a well-crafted narrative gleaned from research as well as from her conversations with many. This is a book which is gender-neutral and yet compels the reader to recalibrate their thinking, only so that tomorrow is a better and more just place.”
