The best known bearers of Ram Manohar Lohia’s philosophy in today’s politics

List of noteworthy Indian politicians, who claim to be inspired by Ram Manohar Lohia.

   

Ram Manohar Lohia’s legacy has inspired the creation of several political parties in India, the first and most prominent of which was the Janata Dal. The disintegration of the Janata Dal led to the emergence of parties like the Janata Dal (United), Janata Dal (Secular), the Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, and the Indian National Lok Dal. These parties announced an alliance- the Janata Parivar- which has since broken apart.

Here is a list of noteworthy Indian politicians, who claim to be inspired by Ram Manohar Lohia.

Mulayam Singh Yadav

Mulayam Singh Yadav was the head of the Samajwadi Party, and was Chief Minister of UP for three non-consecutive terms.
