New Delhi [India], October 2 (ANI): A delegation of Sikh community leaders met with BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda and other key party leaders at his residence on Wednesday to discuss various issues, including the challenges faced by the Sikh community and how to address them.

According to a source, the meeting was held in preparation for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.

The meeting lasted about one and a half hours and included several key leaders, such as National General Secretary Sunil Bansal, State General Secretary Pawan Rana, State President Virendra Sachdeva, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, BJP leaders Iqbal Singh Lalpura, RP Singh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and others.

Speaking to ANI, a source said, the meeting focused on strategies for engaging with the Sikh community during the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections and promoting the government’s achievements to the Sikh population in the city.

“A three-member committee has been formed to communicate the government’s achievements to the Sikh community. The committee members are Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, and RP Singh”, the source added.

The source also mentioned that discussions were held on raising awareness about the failures of the AAP government and the ‘anti-Sikh’ statements made by Lok Sabh Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi. Additionally, the focus was on highlighting the Modi government’s accomplishments from 2014 to 2024 within the Sikh community of Delhi.

To strengthen their outreach, a 20-member committee will go Singh Sabha Gurdwara to take opinions from the Sikh community, and gather suggestions on how to better serve them, the source said.

These suggestions will be shared with the three-member committee, who will then work to improve efforts for the Sikh population in Delhi. The committee includes notable names such as Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Kawaljeet Singh Dheer, Raja Iqbal Singh, Kuldeep Singh, and Tarvinder Singh Marwa.(ANI)
