Uorfi Javed’s haters are also singing her praise these days. Her new reality show, Follow Kar Lo Yaar, takes her personality beyond the outfits she wears. Javed pulls back the curtain on her life, offering viewers a raw, unfiltered glimpse into her world. And, I absolutely love it.

Javed is refreshingly candid. She’s blunt and her story resonates deeply. Her hunger for success, her relentless drive, and the fire in her belly are all too familiar to anyone who’s ever dreamed big.

For nine episodes, each running for 30 minutes, you might find yourself cringing at times. But, you’ll still binge-watch it all. There’s something about Javed that keeps you hooked, no matter how unconventional or outrageous she might seem.

From therapy sessions and paparazzi sightings to trial shows and family drama—Follow Kar Lo Yaar has all the required spices. Munawar Faruqui, Orry, Prajakta Koli, and Sandeep Khosla make cameo appearances.

In one episode, Javed casually mentions her ambition to become the “Indian Kim Kardashian”. While the comparison is intriguing, she doesn’t need to walk in anyone else’s shadow. Javed is already a sensation, unlike anyone else in the spotlight today.

Known for her boundary-pushing sartorial choices, Javed has made a name for herself by transforming everyday objects—think safety pins, blades, belts, and locks—into high fashion. At first, she was ridiculed, trolled, and outright abused on social media. But, nothing could deter her. Javed turned those DIY outfits into her signature style, eventually catching the eye of top designers like Anamika Khanna and Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and even brands like The Health Factory and Chinese Wok.

Throughout the show, whenever Javed opens up, she appears incredibly relatable. Her journey speaks to the everyday hustle of middle-class life, making her an inspiration for this generation.

The show also shines a spotlight on her sisters—Urusa, Asfi, and Dolly. The family drama has moments that will have you laughing out loud. And then there’s Salim, Javed’s brother, who is calm and composed, much like Robert Kardashian in the Kardashian clan. But the real breakout star? Javed’s manager and Asfi’s boyfriend, Sahil Habib Khan, whose down-to-earth charm and ability to handle even the most chaotic situations has won him a legion of fans.

What sets Follow Kar Lo Yaar apart from other reality shows like Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, Moving in with Malaika, or Khan Sisters is its authenticity. Javed and her sisters aren’t putting up on a show—they’re just living their lives, albeit with a bit more glam and drama.

The sibling dynamics, the laughter, the arguments—it’s all so familiar, yet so unconventional.

Capitalising on paparazzi attention

During the show, Javed reveals how she leveraged the paparazzi culture to her advantage.

“They have made me what I am today,” she candidly admits. And if you’ve ever scrolled through Instagram’s celebrity spottings, you’ll know that Javed and Rakhi Sawant are the paparazzi’s darlings.

She’s often compared to the other social media personality, Rakhi Sawant, but in reality, she’s far savvier. Javed did what Sawant couldn’t—she capitalised on all the attention, turning it into legitimate work opportunities with top brands and designers. She demanded respect, and she got it.

For Javed, getting photographed wasn’t just about basking in the limelight; it was about showcasing her talent to an industry that had previously shut its doors on her. She transformed the streets into her personal runway, defying expectations and doing the unthinkable.

And now? The same audience that once mocked her has become her fan. It’s the classic case of people laughing at you before they laugh with you, and Javed embodies this transformation perfectly.

Javed’s story won’t end with paparazzi spottings and fashion collabs. She’s got bigger plans. She’s working on launching a women’s solutions brand, with products ranging from pasties to shapewear. In the final episode, she boldly announces her plans to invest over a crore to kickstart her brand.

“I want to make it a unicorn,” she declares.

You might think she’s unhinged, but history has shown that those who are labeled as such often go on to achieve the impossible. And if anyone can pull off the unthinkable, it’s Uorfi Javed.

So, whether you’re cheering her on or still trying to wrap your head around her, one thing’s for sure—Uorfi Javed is here to stay. And she’s just getting started.
