he has nothing done
I think, Starting with MPs and MLAs both have basic responsibility, to be available for all citizens, and need to solve problems of people, and make life better.
And BIG shift and surgery is needed on their brains, that their job is to serve people, once they get elected and efficient of delivery of works, and not always act like party agents, or party representatives
What is MLA doing then? If everything is to be done by MP?
Late Sri Ananthkumar MP helped Bengaluru South in many ways. As an MP he did not discriminate among religion or party .He was the person who helped the state government in getting central funds and cleared pending issues related to Bangalore like our Ejipura Agara link road.
Because of his popularity among masses.
He got elected in as MP several times.
Significant achievements of Late Mr. Ananth Kumar
1. By moving to 100% Neem Coated Urea, he created a revolution in fertilizers in India.- Annual savings of over 10,000 Cr INR is achieved due to stopping of diversion of subsidised Urea from farming to Industry[4]
2. Price reduction of 85% on cardiac stents, leading to savings of over 4,500/- Cr INR per year[5] from over 1.5 lakhs per stent, to 27,890/- pro poor initiative of stent price cap
3 Price reduction of 69% on Knee Implants, leading to savings of over INR 1,500 Cr p.a from 1.5 to2.5 lakh to the new price of 54,500/-
4. Focus on Affordable Quality Healthcare for all, by opening over 3600 Jan Aushadhi Kendras (1 Jun 2018) from mere Rs.99 in May 2014, leading to savings of over 500 Cr INR for the common man.[6]
5. Suvidha – Bio-degradable & environment friendly sanitary pads at just 2.50 per piece from 5 June 2018, launched on 8th Mar 2018 – international women’s day
6.Taking India on the way to becoming net exporter of fertilizers from currently being a net importer by 2022, by reviving 6 closed fertilizer plants with over 48,000 cr investment
7.A historic record in passing GST bill in Parliament, without BJP having a majority in the Rajya Sabha. This along with very high productivity of both houses has been a significant achievement on the Governance aspect.
8. The historic GST mid night launch in Central Hall of the Parliament will count as one of the highpoints in his political career. His ability to forge consensus across all parties, get the bill passed in both the houses of Parliament, get more than 50% of states endorse the same within 3 weeks and finally, support the Finance ministry in launching this on 1 July 2017.[7]
What has he done for his constituency? Nothing.
Quite insensitive of you. May his soul rest in peace.
On what basis you ask this?? Do you even have sense to ask this ?? Without working for people does one become MP for 6terms ??
Contest an RWA election you will realize what it takes – To get even 10 votes to struggle
Please don’t pass comments on a dead person.
Let’s look at future. Under coalition nothing works. Some one remarked if one party rules this state, the opposition is at centre. Hence both hands don’t join to clap. I must say that this is the curse of our state.
Plz up date who is theMP now also speak about previous term wise to compare
It is not updated. The said candidate is no more.
I live in Malleswaram and Ananth Kumar made huge contributions under MP scheme to develop the grounds which should have been done by State Govt instead. .
Silk Road junction issue similarly should have been handled by state Govt… but at least he got additional funding under National highway development for road up to Hosur.
There’s been peculiar situation in Karnataka…. since 80s always there will be different party govt. I.e. if BJP is ruling in Center it will be Cong. Here. No coordination between the two….So MP’s voice is not heard by State & vis-e-versa
That’s true , when both state and LS happened simultaneously, people voted for different parties. Its always an opposite parties in state and country in Karnataka.
If you have not seen Swat valley or Somalia then please come and see Nagarbhavi. Lalu was right when he said there is no link development with elections.
One of the most corrupt part of the state . Traffic regulation horrible . Water supply infrastructure poor. Waste management very poor . People have very rare sight of MP and MLA. The corporator supposed to be female, but no one knows her or seen her after election . Her husband is the de factor corporator.
These Bangalore MPs did nothing to improve Bangalore’s infrastructure. They improved their pockets definitely. The case is same with any party! Please vote for NOTA!
South Bangalore is in utter chaos. Areas around Koramangala are in deep traffic congestion. As a Senior citizen, I need to check the levels of traffic
to venture out. Desperation, frustration at the way things run in these areas. Lot of immigrants from other states, no regard for rule of law. Helmetless riders, one ways are are full of violaters, none can speak inviting the wrath of these people, traffic constables are mere spectators or busy on mobile phones. God safe this area.
No footpath, no open space, no trees, no localities and now no underground water. Gone are those good days of Bangalore which I grew , only memories.
When a persons gets elected for 5 terms and yet there are negative comments, it could imply
1. Wrong / biased comments
2. Non participation of electorate allowing for non performer to get elected again & again.
3. Non participative citizens who are the arm chair / drawing room category..
In any of the above the finger points at electorate. So better go and cast your vote. Be citizen not Netizens.
Old details. New incumbents not updated
Please do as time very limited
During his 5 terms as an MP from Bangalore South, the incumbent has done nothing to improve the situation at Silk Board Junction and surrounding areas. Things have gone from bad to worse.
There is corruption in every state departments. Congress is a curse on the Independent India.
Look at the BJP ruled state of M P.
See the progress made at the center ?.
Bring back a BJP candidate instead of Ananth Kumar.
Ananth Kumar is from BJP, boss. 3rd class performance
Much respect for Congress senior leader in this constituency. Please reject Chota Modi bjp candidate with fascist ideologies.
To fight corruption we need lot of patience! If we stand by our inner belief that we can get work done without bribing, we will be able to change. But that requires grit!!
yes. Bangalore has so much junta and the state of infrastructure is beyond ridiculous.
Corruption everyway in Karnataka not a paper passes in govt.offices and BBMP without greasing the palms of the officials and corporaters. Pensioners and the middle class are put to hardship .
Agree with you
Request the Print to publish a “Job Description” document for MPs. Also for MLAs, Corporation/Municipal Councillors, Panchayat Representatives and the like. Right now, most people conflate all these roles and expect everybody – whether it be an MP, MLA, Ward Councillor blah blah blah to be engaged in activities like sewerage management, roads and traffic etc.
In today’s digital age, should we rethink/redesign these administrative structures and organisations?
Our state contributes highest IT or taxes but no infrastructure or development, roads are bad, garbage everywhere, lakes are being used as dumping grounds, ministers are corrupt and do day light robbery, shame
