Jammu, Mar 29 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra on Sunday urged the youth and farmers of the nation to liberate the country from the current “pro-rich” and “anti-people” government.
Karra criticised the BJP government at the Centre, claiming that the people have suffered greatly under its rule. He pointed out that the government has failed to fulfil its promise to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and pledged to continue the fight for this cause. Speaking at a ‘Kissan Sammelan’ in Nagri, Kathua district, Karra stated that common citizens have faced significant hardships during the past 12 years of BJP governance, which he accused of serving only the interests of “big corporate friends.” “The prime minister has compromised the dignity and sovereignty of 140 crore Indians by surrendering to US President Donald Trump,” he said, calling on farmers and youth to work together to overthrow the “pro-rich and anti-people” Modi regime. Karra also advocated for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that the central government had betrayed the people of the region by not honouring its commitments.

“The Prime Minister is compromised and has surrendered before US president Donald Trump compromising the dignity and sovereignty of 140 crore Indians,” he said, exhorting the farmers and youth to free the country of “pro-rich and anti-people” Modi regime.
Post 2019 when the erstwhile state was bifurcated into two UTs and its special status revoked, he said Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts are losing jobs and land which need to be safeguarded.
He pitched for restoration of statehood to J&K and said the centre by not keeping its promises has betrayed the people of the region.
Working President Raman Bhalla also criticized the centre for not restoring the statehood to J&K despite promises by Prime Minister and Home Minister.
“The people of J&K are suffering due to dual control system and lack of statehood,” he said.
Former minister Lal Singh accused BJP of snatching the Dogra identity status and rights of the people by bifurcating the erstwhile state into two UTs.
“Our land, jobs and natural resources are being looted by outsiders at the cost of locals. The people of Kathua, Samba and Jammu have suffered the most with crime rate on rise.
